Have a question about the drought? We want to investigate

There’s been plenty of coverage and conversation about how California is weathering its record-setting drought. But all these reports have made us curious: What stones are still unturned?

Since the drought began, we’ve worked hard to illuminate its lesser-seen workings in our Secrets of the Drought series: We exposed how the state made its biggest water users secret to shield tech executives. We showed how California is sinking, rapidly. And we revealed the big hazards of pumping prehistoric groundwater.

In next month’s episode of our “Reveal radio show and podcast, we’re diving even deeper, taking a close look at the haves and have nots in the world of water. We’ll bring you stories investigating an elite set of “super users” in California,  Saudi Arabian companies farming the Arizona desert, a case of massive mismanagement in Texas and a set of New York laws penalizing the poor.

Yet for all of our work, we know there are many more stories yet to be told – and we’re gathering your questions to help tease them out.

Submitting one is easy. All you have to do is type a question you have about the drought into the box below and click “submit.” We’ll choose three we think are particularly ripe for investigation, then put it to readers to vote on which one we report out in the coming months.

And, of course, don’t miss October’s episode of “Reveal.”
