Collaborative journalism is having a moment right now, but it’s more than just a buzzword.
Annie Chabel is the associate director of development for The Center for Investigative Reporting. In this role, she helps develop and manage fundraising strategies for the organization and works on all aspects of foundation fundraising. Prior to joining CIR, Chabel served as the grants manager for the Bay Area Video Coalition, a nonprofit media arts center in San Francisco, where she generated revenue from foundations, corporations and government funders. She previously worked in development at the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases at the UC San Francisco. Chabel is based in CIR’s Emeryville, California, office.
